Ryan Maddox is a senior epidemiologist and Deputy Chief of the Prion and Public Health Office at the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In this role, he coordinates national surveillance of human prion diseases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
Dr. Maddox received his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University and earned his Master of Public Health (epidemiology) and PhD degrees from Emory University. He is the author or co-author of many publications covering various aspects of prion diseases in the United States.
