Dr Qi Shi, MD, PhD, Professor of Virology
Director, CJD surveillance center, Department of Prion Disease, Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention (IVDC), China CDC
Dr Shi is the director of the Department of Prion Disease, Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention and independent PI of State Key Lab for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control. She received her Bachelor of Medicine from North China Coal Medical University in 1999, Master of Immunology from Xi’an Medical University in 2005, and Doctor of Immunology from China CDC.
From 2006, she has worked as a research scientist in National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, China CDC and is in charge of CJD surveillance in China.
Her major research field is surveillance of prion disease in China and pathogenesis of prion disease. She has published more than 100 scientific papers, including about 70 SCI-cited English papers as first author or the corresponding author.
